This web site is devoted to grappling with the inequity found around the globe.  Specifically it is felt that the rubric of "well-being" provides the most encompassing framing for a more hopeful future.  The primary focus for response is the First World, which is the author's world - what we can do to make an impact that helps to nudge life along.

REFLECTIONS ON TERRORISM (August, 2005):
The following is an essay by Farah Jamal, who did some internship work to start to probe the current conversation on terrorism. As such it was only possible to skim the surface of issues. Her basic conclusion is that in the short-term terrorism works, and the solution is not a "war on terror." Rather the underlying causes must be identfied and addressed and that includes allowing voices with legitmate grievance to be a conversation partner among the world power brokers.
